Join the Volunteer Bike Patrol

To enhance the experience for all users of the Greenway Trail, the Volunteer Bike Patrol endeavors to provide the following:

Information-Bike patrol volunteers frequently talk with trail users, answering questions and distributing trail maps.
Assistance-help trail users experiencing problems, e.g., provide first aid or emergency bike repair (within your comfort level) or call for assistance as needed.
Safety-promote bike safety and courtesy. Be the “eyes and ears” for the trail. Violations or problems are reported to the Metroparks Rangers or the Sheriff’s Department. By being visible, the volunteer bike patrol tends to discourage crime.
Trail maintenance-volunteers report maintenance problems: may assist with maintaining the natural beauty of the trail by picking up litter.

Bike patrol applications can downloaded, picked up at the Bike Patrol building in Austinburg (on the trail) or by calling the Metroparks Office at 440-576-0717.

Trail Maintenance Donations

The 27.50 miles of Ashtabula County’s Greenway are currently maintained with the help of volunteers.

Donations are appreciated to defray the cost of equipment and basic upkeep used by the volunteers.

If you would like to contribute to keeping the trail in top condition, please consider sending a check.

You may make a general donation to the parks or designate where your donation should be assigned.

Purchase a Trail Bench

We are not accepting bench donations at this time due to the cost increase of materials/labor and the delay in shipment of benches.

Please know we are researching other options and will update the website accordingly.

A bench is a wonderful way to memorialize or honor a loved one.

Great for a birthday, anniversary, new baby, graduation – it is the perfect gift for any occasion!

The Greenway is using two different size benches along the trail (6 foot bench and 8 foot bench).

Inscription- letter (max. 36 letters)

Price includes concrete pad and installation by our maintenance volunteers.
